Widespread water strider (pond skater), which is a small insect recognized for its remarkable skill of walking on water. Water strider's secret lies in the special hydrophobic microstructures on its legs, which repel water and prevent it from sinking. By evenly distributing its weight, the water strider (pond skater) exploits the water's surface tension to stay above the waterline. Pool skater's (water strider's) hunting prowess is fueled by its ability to detect vibrations, allowing it to locate, find and capture various insects struggling on the water's surface.
