Water strider (pond skater), is a small insect recognized for its remarkable skill of walking on water. Its secret lies in the special hydrophobic microstructures on its legs, which repel water and prevent it from sinking. By evenly distributing its weight, the water strider exploits the water's surface tension to stay above the waterline. Water strider insect's hunting prowess is fueled by its ability to detect vibrations, allowing it to locate and capture various insects struggling on the water's surface.
