Rotorcraft Autogyro Blue is a three-dimensional model of civil sport type autogyro (compact self-turning aircraft or gyroplane), which uses an unpowered rotor in free autorotation to develop lift.
While similar to a helicopter rotor in appearance, the autogyro's unpowered rotor disc must have air flowing upward across it to make it rotate. An autogyro, also known as a gyroplane, is a small rotorcraft utilized primarily for civil private use. Unlike helicopters, autogyros have unpowered rotors that spin freely, generating lift through autorotation. Forward motion is achieved through an engine-driven propeller, while the rotor provides lift. They offer versatility in short takeoff and landing capabilities, making them suitable for various applications such as recreational flying, aerial photography, and agricultural tasks.
