NASA ACS3 is a 3d model of lightweight, flexible sail constructed from advanced composite materials designed to harness the pressure of sunlight for propulsion in space.
The sail is made up of lightweight, high-strength fibers such as carbon fiber or fiberglass, coated with a thin layer of reflective material to maximize sunlight reflection. The ACS3 sail is designed to be deployed in space and use the pressure of sunlight to propel spacecraft through the vacuum of space without the need for traditional fuel or engines.
