The Nasua, commonly known as the Mountain Coati, is a mammal native to the mountainous regions of Central and South America. With a slender body and a long, banded tail, Nasuas are part of the raccoon family. Their diet is omnivorous, consisting of fruits, insects, small vertebrates, and eggs. Active during the day, Nasuas exhibit remarkable climbing abilities, enabling them to move effortlessly through trees. They are social animals, living in small groups and communicating through vocalizations and scent marking. Despite facing challenges such as habitat loss and human activities, Nasuas persist in their natural habitats, adapting to changing environments.
