The Golden Poison Frog, scientifically known as Phyllobates terribilis, is a brightly colored amphibian native to the rainforests of western Colombia. This small but striking frog is a member of the Poison Dart Frog family, recognized for its vibrant golden-yellow skin. Despite its captivating appearance, this species is highly toxic. The skin secretes potent alkaloid toxins, making it one of the most poisonous animals on Earth. Indigenous people have historically used the toxins for the tips of blowdarts, hence the name "Poison Dart Frog."
